FAQs
Do I have to buy a maintenance package for my website?
No, but it is recommended. Remember, if you choose not to sign up for a maintenance package, your website won’t be automatically updated and monitored. Outdated websites are the leading cause of hacks and other security issues. Additionally, premium themes and plugins used on your website will not be eligible for updates under Red Zone’s agency subscription.
What if I already have a website but I just want a maintenance package?
That’s absolutely fine, as long as your current website is on WordPress. We’ll even migrate it to our servers for free if you choose to use our included hosting service. And if you choose the unlimited package, we can even take care of content updates for you! If you’re not sure what counts as a content update, check our maintenance page.
How can I make changes to my website after it's launched?
By using WordPress and installing a simple visual editor, we make it as easy as possible for you to make minor edits to your website, but we understand that not everybody feels comfortable doing that. If you would like access to regular managed content updates please consider our Premium or Unlimited Maintenance Packages. If you’re interested in a bigger change such as adding new functionality or creating a new design, that can be provided on an hourly basis. For more information on what counts as a content update, please visit our maintenance page or contact us.
I don't know where to begin. What should I do?
Whether it’s a logo, website, or anything else, it’s totally okay to not know what you want at the start of a project. If you have ideas and specific plans, we’d love to help you bring them alive, but if you’re just not sure, that’s okay too. We love helping people find exactly what they want.
What is a domain name and how does it work?
A domain name is your website address (www.example.com) and that will always stay under your complete control. If you need help getting one, we are happy to help with that, and once you do, we will point the domain to our secure hosting service.
What's a Dedicated VPS? Do I need one?
VPS stands for virtual private server. When you have shared hosting, your website is on a server with other websites. For most small websites, this is not a problem. Shared hosting is generally reliable, and unless you’re planning a sudden spike in visitors, you can usually expect about 99.9% uptime. If you have a bigger website, however, for example, if you have over 50,000-100,000 visitors per month, if you plan to host videos directly on your server, or if you have a large eCommerce store, you may need a VPS to prevent your website from slowing down or even crashing.
A 1 GB RAM dedicated VPS is available with any of our maintenance packages for an additional $20/month or included in our Unlimited Package. If you expect to need more than 1 GB RAM, please contact us directly to discuss enterprise options.
